It’s late so I’ll be keeping this fairly brief…
Mom had an early morning – she actually was up and out of bed before I even got there! I had mentioned before that the goal here is that they keep her out of bed as much as possible.
I was able to be with her during her OT, Speech, and PT sessions. They all went well. We did have a chance to talk about how much work this is going to be but I know she can do it. I told her that she has to believe she can do it too and she has to keep fighting. She agreed and that made me so happy.
She worked very hard in PT today. They even worked with her to get her to stand several times. Completely assisted of course, but I’m hoping that her brain will make the connection and standing will seem familiar and trigger something. Check her out!
Mom is working very hard here and I think she will make a lot of progress while she’s here. The big question right now is how long she will be able to stay. We will be having a meeting next week to talk about her plan and hopefully come to an agreement on the best treatment options for her. Please keep my mom and her “living situation” in your prayers. Some of you may have experience with this and understand what we are/will be facing.
