Stronger Everyday! – Thursday, October 26, 2017

Mom had a great visit with Cyndie last weekend. I can’t believe that it was already a week ago that she arrived! The time really went by fast. We’re looking forward to Thanksgiving when she and Wade will be here for a couple of days. It’ll be another short one, but we are grateful for anything we can get.

Mom continues to do great with her brace. She even started using her walker with me helping to guide her along. We don’t go as far as the therapist does, but now that we know it can be done she’ll have more opportunities to practice her walking. I managed to get her to stand completely unassisted for a few minutes. Check it out!

Because of all of the activity she’s back to having some sleeping issues. She’s been complaining of leg pain and that her leg twitches a lot. We’re working on trying to treat her for RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). Hopefully we can get that to calm down so she’ll be able to sleep better.

I have to admit – many times I forget to come to the blog and update. It’s been easier for me to post a video or throw a quick comment on my social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, IG). I need to be better about updating here. Sorry!

I know that mom misses hearing from her friends. I realize that she’s farther out now that she’s with me and it’s not convenient for people to come visit. Between her therapies, doctor’s appointments, and her needing to rest, it’s tough to plan us heading back to her old stomping ground. There are also some logistical, “comfort” issues that we need to deal with as well that most may forget to consider. Anyway – people are welcome to come out here to visit if they’d like. I don’t want anyone to feel like they can’t. I know that her friends are here to see her and not me, so I won’t even be in the room when you visit. No pressure to do so, but I feel like I need to mention it in case that’s why some have gone radio silent. I do want to thank those that send her cards regularly. She really does enjoy getting those. When I read them to her she speaks fondly of the senders and I know it makes her feel good to be thought of.

  1. Hello from Wendy Montanari, I love reading about Sue B’s progress and I am so happy that you kids are there! I know she is thankful, too!

My sister Susan and I have lost track of her (Your?) home address– Where can we send cards now?

    Sending healing thoughts, Wendy
